Schiphol
Winter sports holiday bookings of transavia.com, the largest low cost low fare airline in the Netherlands, show a substantial increase this winter season. The airline expected a 25% increase in bookings this winter, but the number of passengers that fly with transavia.com to their snowy destinations has largely exceeded these expectations. This season saw an increase of no less than 46% in winter sports holiday bookings compared to last winter season. Group bookings have even doubled in numbers compared to last year. February and March show the biggest increase in bookings. Austria, with its airports of Salzburg and Innsbruck, is this year’s most popular winter sports destination and it shows the largest increase in bookings.
More flights
This season, transavia.com has increased its number of flights to winter sports destinations from the Netherlands substantially. The airline flies to Salzburg and Innsbruck no less than 33 times a week, not only from home base Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, but also from Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Eindhoven Airport. New this winter are flights from Amsterdam to Salzburg (4 times a week) and from Eindhoven to Salzburg (once a week). transavia.com also offers flights from Rotterdam The Hague Airport to winter sports destinations Grenoble, Geneva and Friedrichshafen.
Willem Hondius, Commercial Director transavia.com: “Naturally, we are very pleased with these developments. Flying to winter sports destinations is gaining popularity fast, because this way of travel has many advantages. You’ll avoid long traffic jams and will reach your destination within hours. We have expanded our flight capacity in response to the increased market demand, so we can offer our passengers many opportunities to go on a short ski break”.
Campaign: free flight in exchange for your roof box

To support this message, transavia.com invites everyone to come to its head office TransPort at Schiphol-Oost on Wednesday, 15 December between 1 pm and 5 pm, to collect two free return tickets to a winter sports destination in exchange for your roof box. After all, once you have discovered how convenient flying to your winter sports destination is, you will no longer need your roof box.
