Hohensalzburg

One of the experiences of a lifetime is the cable train to the Hohensalzburg Fort. It is the best preserved medieval fort in Central Europe, with a view from the top of the Festungberg which at 560 meters high is truly breathtaking. The city with its church tower can be seen to the north, with the Alps to the south.
Address: The cable train departs from Festungsgasse 4.

Altstadt (Old City)

Most of Salzburg’s sights are in the Old City. The charm of this area is possibly the most impressive. It is on the UNESCO world heritage list and attractive little squares, fountains, baroque churches, imposing medieval buildings, wrought iron signposts and a great deal more appear everywhere.

Hagenauer House

This is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the natural musical genius and one of the world’s most important composers.
Address: Getreidegasse 9

Rupertinum

Leave the idyllic environment for a short visit to the Salzburg museum of modern art. The trendy Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery is situated here.
