Airport

Vienna’s International Airport (www.viennaairport.com) is at Schwechat, 20 km from the centre of Vienna. The CAT airport train (www.cityairporttrain.com) takes 16 minutes to the centre (discount with the Vienna Card). Departures from the airport every half hour from 06:02 to 00:05 and from the city centre from 05:38-23.38.

The Airport Express bus takes 20 minutes to the centre. Departures every half hour from 05.00 to 00.20.

The train (Schnellbahn S7) takes 32 minutes to the centre, (discount with the Vienna Card). Departures every half hour from 04.00 to approx 22.00.

Public transport

Vienna has Underground lines, trams and buses. The same ticket is valid everywhere and can be bought at tobacconists or special ticket machines on board. For more information please see: www.wien.gv.at.

Vienna Card

A 3-day Vienna Card gives free access to the Underground, buses and trams, plus a discount at more than 200 sights, cafés, restaurants, shops and museums. Sold at tourist offices, some hotels, and at Wiener Linien stations. For more information, please consult www.wien.info.

Vienna’s main shopping streets and department stores are generally open Mondays to Fridays 09.00-18.30, Saturdays 09.00-17.00. Many are open until 21.00 on Thursdays or to 19.30 on Fridays. Most are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
