Camel ride through the dunes of Maspalomas

Put on your Lawrence of Arabia outfit and climb onto a camel for a six kilometre long journey through undulating sand.

Beach life

Although Gran Canaria has an abundance of cultural and green attractions, most visitors are attracted by its many vast beaches. Around 20 percent of the coastline consists of beaches of varying size, with various facilities and colours. Black sand is very common, due to its volcanic origins.

Playa del Inglés

A 4 kilometre long beach with golden-coloured sand, an attractive promenade and a large number of bars, restaurants and shops.

Puerto Rico

Imported sand from the Sahara in a lightly sloping bay.
Can be reached by bus numbers 1, 31, 61 and 91.

Sardina

A secluded bay in Galdar on the northern coast, sheltered by steep cliffs.
Can be reached by bus numbers 102, 103 and 105 from Las Palmas.
