hotels in PulaPula in brief
With over 60,000 residents, Pula is the largest town in Istria and lies on the most southerly tip of the peninsula. Up to 1947 this 3,000 year old town belonged to Italy and was then known as Pola. The town was occupied by Yugoslavian forces in May 1945, and became Yugoslavian territory in 1947. This prompted the part of the Italian population, the majority at the time, to move to Italy. Pula has been part of the new state of Croatia since 1991.
