Because of its location on the coast, it is not surprising that Sharm is renowned for its seafood. However, there are also many other good restaurants that serve just about any cuisine, from French, Thai, American or Japanese through to traditional Egyptian meals.

Sinai Star

Nothing out of the ordinary, but certainly very popular, this restaurant serves fresh tasty fish dishes at excellent prices. No alcohol is served. Average cost of a meal: below 50 LE.

Zigolini

This restaurant, located in the Jolie Moevenpick resort, offers a large selection of Italian dishes and beautiful views of the Naama Bay. Average cost of a meal: around 60 LE.

Abou El Sid

Authentic Egyptian cuisine in a charming, traditional eastern atmosphere. Be sure to try Molokheya, the national dish of Egypt, a leafy herb served with rice and meat.
Address: Naama Bay, front of the Naama Centre. Le Fleur A sophisticated restaurant that serves carefully prepared French dishes. Located in the Moevenpick Resort. Be sure to try the chocolate fondue for desert. Average cost of a meal: around 120 LE.

This restaurant and lounge bar specialises in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes. It has a friendly and easy-going atmosphere.

Sala Thai Restaurant

Serves an inviting selection of carefully prepared Thai dishes in a classic Thai atmosphere with antique artefacts and a traditional open kitchen.

Ali Baba Oriental Café

This stylish rooftop café offers a good selection of oriental coffees and teas and water pipes (Shishas) with a variety of aromatic tobaccos. Also a nice spot to view the sunset from.

Makani Bakery

Serves a large range of homemade breads, rolls and puddings. Eat in the bakery or take with you.
