Each district in Paris has its own charm. The first district offers a bit of everything — from the cheapest stalls on the eastern side to the Michelin star restaurants in the west. The second district is trendy and business-like.

The oldest part of Paris, Le Marais, is found in the fourth and it has a busy centre of cafés and restaurants. In the fifth district you will find the famous and lively Quartier Latin. This is still home to the students and therefore has the most pleasant cafés and restaurants.

Worth trying:
  • Bouillabaisse: French fish soup
  • Escargots: Roman snails in herb butter
  • Quiche Lorraine: well-seasoned pie
  • Coq au Vin: chicken with champignons prepared in a creamy red wine sauce
  • Boeuf Bourguignon: stew with braising steak, onions and champignons
  • Salade Niçoise: salad with, among others, tuna and egg
  • Crème Brûlée: custard-like sweet covered with caramelised sugar
  • Crêpe Suzette: crêpe sprinkled with Grand Marnier
