Airport
Nikos Kazantzakis is one of Greece’s three largest international airports and lies only 10 minutes from the centre of Heraklion. You can take bus 1 to the city centre.Do you intend to hire a car? There are major parking problems, especially in the centre of Heraklion. Hire a car only if you intend to visit other cities as well. In Heraklion itself you would do better to hire a bicycle or motor bike.
Public transport
Bus tickets are on sale in the kiosks throughout the town. It is advisable to buy a return ticket at the start. Buses travel every 20 to 30 minutes from 05h30/06h00 to around midnight.Chemist’s
