The centre of Thessaloniki consists of a number of large intersections: the streets of Tsimiski, Mitropoleos, Ermou, Egnatia, Agiou Dimitriou and Leoforos Nikis intersect with the vertical streets, in particular Agias Sofias, Aristotelous, Venizelou and Paleon Patron Germanou. This area is where you will find the commercial heart of town. The market of Thessaloniki has shops with the latest fashion, shoes, jewellery and accessories. In Tsimiski in particular you will find clothing and shoes from the largest fashion houses in the world. Contemporary shops, some of which are very luxurious, sell products for everyone’s style and budget. The Mil-Or jeweller’s shop has been in the historical centre of Thessaloniki since 1897, and you will find a comprehensive collection of modern gold jewellery and antiques here. The shop is located at 24 Tsimiski. The market at Kalamaria is also renowned for its large variety at good prices. There are also a number of street markets in the centre of the town, where you can find many different products for low prices.
