Airport
Aeroporto di Venezia Marco Polo is located near the city centre at about 12 km away if you travel by land and 10 km away if you travel over water. From the airport you can take the FlyBus to Venezia-Mestre train station. There is also a bus service to the station Venezia Santa Lucia. If you want to travel by boat to the city centre, you hop on one of the boats of the company Alilaguna
Public transport
ACTV runs the bus boats, the vaporettos. Tickets can be purchased in the train stations and in news agents.
Gondola and boat taxi
Travelling around in a gondola is expensive. Boat taxis are a little cheaper.

Stamps are available from tobacco shops displaying a blue/white “Tabacchi” sign or a T-symbol.
Chemist’s
The opening hours of chemist’s shops differ during the evening and weekend. The addresses of the pharmacies with late opening hours are displayed at each pharmacy.
Dentist
Venice does not have emergency dentists. The Ospedale Civile hospital can make an appointment with a dentist in normal opening hours.
