The gate of the medina
Here you can view three mosques and three synagogues. In the gardens, which are irrigated by the wells of Sidi Yahia, the inhabitants create works of art.

Bab sidi
Situated on the western side, this entrance is enclosed by two bastions where the Maghzen had the leaders of the rebels hanged. Hence the name “gate of the heads”.

Dar Sebti
This is one of the most beautiful of the palaces in the city. It was built in 1938 by a powerful merchant from the city and was recently renovated. It now serves as the head office of the Research centre for Gharnati music and the location for many cultural activities: expositions, receptions, etc. The beautiful Lalla Meriem park is situated opposite this palace. The head office of the Tourist Information Office is also located in this park.

The Charif Al Idrissi library
Established in 1956, this library is part of the small group of public libraries from the previous century. Situated in a beautiful Moorish building that used to belong to the Pasja of the city, it currently houses reading rooms and is specialised in languages.
