To doTo do

There is something for everyone: festivals, equestrian shows and cultural events.

Numerous religious celebrations and festivals take place throughout the year. The dates of these festivals – very important to the Moroccans – are determined on the basis of the Hégire. The most important festive days are holidays. These include the turn of the year (Ras as-Sane), the birth of the prophet (Mouloud), the end of the Ramadan (Aïd al Fitr) and the festival of the sheep (Aïd al Adha or Aïd al Kebir).

Equestrian shows
Since the 19th century, traditional fighters have demonstrated their artistry at every large show. The horsemen sit proudly in their saddles with a beautifully decorated gun at their sides. To this day, these large and spectacular shows are still extremely popular.

Cultural events
Summer is also the time of the moussems, which are Berber festivals that have a wonderful atmosphere. Every region has its own moussem. The international festival of the raï is held every summer.
