Eating & drinking
Varied and sophisticated – Moroccan cuisine definitely deserves its good reputation. Soups, salads, grilled meat, fish, pastry – everything is a feast for the eyes and mouth. Do try the harira starter. This is a soup made of lentils and meat, which is often eaten during the Ramadan. Allow yourself to be seduced by the fish and shellfish. The couscous is delicious – as are the ragouts of meat or fish.
One of the specialities is the pastilla, a dish of meat or fish covered in puff pastry.
The sweet pastries are a good accompaniment for the familiar mint tea, the national drink – which is enjoyed by people in Morocco all day long.
The kingdom produces wine of good quality but this will not be available in every restaurant.
