Round-trip boats

Throughout the day, round-trip boats leave from the Central Station, the Damrak and the Rijksmuseum. A round trip takes approximately 45 minutes. Other alternatives are the Canalbus – with eleven stops in the vicinity of the museums and shopping streets – or the museum boat, which travels to all of the museums.

Walking about

A few interesting locations, which you should not miss: the Damplein with the Royal Palace, built in 1665, and the Nieuwe Kerk, which was erected in the 15th century. The Oude Kerk (the oldest building in the city) dates back to 1302. This church is located in the Warmoesstraat, surrounded on all sides by the sex shops and the red light district. The old centre of Amsterdam (Herengracht, Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht) consists of charming little streets with shops, art galleries and pubs.
