Shuttle to the city

Leaves from the airport every 30 minutes for the Avenue dos Aliados between 7h00 and 20h00. Tickets cost € 4.

Buses (city) to the airport

Numbers 87 and 601 travel to the airport from Torre dos Clerigos.
Number 76 leaves from Praca da Liberdade.

Public transport

Porto has a good bus and tram network with routes taking in all the tourist attractions. It is provided by STCP, a single journey costing € 1.20.

The city has also recently acquired an underground network, well-run and efficient. A single journey costs between € 0.85 and € 1.85. www.metro-porto.pt

Post offices are open from Mondays to Fridays from 8h30 to 18h00. Postage stamps can be purchased here but also in every shop with a red horse sign. The central post

Medical services and dentists

Clinics are open from 8.00 to 20.00 hrs and hospitals also have a 24-hour emergency service. If you are involved in a road accident, go to the nearest SOS telephone.

Chemist’s shops are open from 9h00 to 13h00 and from 15h00 to 19h0. Every part of the city has one pharmacist who is open at night or on Saturdays. You can recognise a chemist’s by the white cross on a green background.

Opening hours

Shops: Open from 9h00 to 13h00 and from 15h00 to 19h00 (Mondays to Fridays). Most shops close at 13h00 on Saturdays. The shopping centres are usually open seven days a week, from 10h00 to 23h00 or to midnight.
Banks: Open from 8h30 to 15h00 (Mondays to Fridays), except on public holidays.
Museums: Generally closed on Mondays. The remainder of the week, open from 10h00 to 12h30 and from 14h00 to 17h00.
