Almeria airport is situated 9 km east of the city. The local number 20 bus departs from the arrivals hall every 20-40 minutes, and the journey takes around 25 minutes.

Public transport

All the sights worth seeing are within walking distance of each other. Buses to other towns in the province and on the coast depart from the Plaza de la Estación next to the splendid Art Nouveau train station, which has connections to Granada, Seville and Madrid.

Plaza Cassinello 1, open 09h00 to 20h00 Monday to Friday, and 10h00 to 13h30 on Saturday.

Medical assistance:

Almería Hospital and Hospital Torrecárdenas. Both have an A&E service, operating day and night.


Pharmacies are open Monday to Saturday from 10h00 to 14h00 and from 17h00 to 20h00. Chemist’s shops have an opening roster for nights and weekends, which is available at the tourist information office and is displayed in the pharmacies.

Opening hours

Most shops are open from Monday to Saturday from 09h00 to 14h00 and from 17h00 to 20h00. Supermarkets and shopping centres are open all day, from 09h00 to 21h00 or later.

Banks are generally open from Monday to Friday between 08h30 and 14h00 and on Saturday from 09h00 to 13h00.
