Public transport

The bus connections on Mallorca are excellent. If you travel within the Palma city limits, you can do so with a season ticket purchased at a tobacconist. The season ticket is a 10-trip ticket. Bus 3 goes all the way from an industrial estate to the Illetas beach, via Palma's inner city. The buses to Valldemossa and other popular villages go from the bus station behind the Plaza Espana. The train to Sóller dates back to 1911 and it leaves from immediately next to the bus station, together with those to Inca and Manacor.

Taxis in Palma are cheap and good. The ride between Palma and Puerto de Sóller takes 35 - 40 minutes. The price does not include the tunnel charge.
