Practical information
Airport
Bus 1 goes to and from Palma airport, the journey taking some 30 minutes. A taxi ride to Palma takes 15 minutes.
Public transport
The bus connections on Mallorca are excellent. If you travel within the Palma city limits, you can do so with a season ticket purchased at a tobacconist. The season ticket is a 10-trip ticket. Bus 3 goes all the way from an industrial estate to the Illetas beach, via Palma's inner city. The buses to Valldemossa and other popular villages go from the bus station behind the Plaza Espana. The train to Sóller dates back to 1911 and it leaves from immediately next to the bus station, together with those to Inca and Manacor.
Taxi
Taxis in Palma are cheap and good. The ride between Palma and Puerto de Sóller takes 35 - 40 minutes. The price does not include the tunnel charge.
Post
The post offices are open on weekdays from 09h00 to 21h00, and from 09h00 to 14h00 on Saturdays. Postage stamps can also be purchased at tobacconists.
Chemist's
You will find pharmacies all over the island. The main chemist's in Palma is called Plano and is located at C/ De la Volta de la Mercè, 4.
