Destination Valencia
Nightlife
Foreign travel guides often describe Spanish cities as party towns. Valencia is the town with the best nightlife, even the Spaniards agree on that. This is partly because of the number of students in the town, but also because true Valencians don’t go out until later in the evening. No one leaves home before 23h00 and most of the bars are open until 02h00 or later. The Calle Caballeros in Barrio Carmen is the party centre. Here you will find dozens of tapas bars, bars and clubs.
Carmen Sui Generis
Luxury bar with a theatre production one night and DJs playing funk and Eighties disco music the next. You can still see parts of the old 12-century town centre wall here and there. Address: 38 Calle Caballeros.
Johnny Maracas
At Johnny’s the Latino culture dominates. Order a Mojito or Agua de Valencia and dance the night away to the music on the dance floor. Address: 39 Calle Caballeros.
Fox Congo
Real onyx bar, possibly the most expensive bar in the world. Address: 35 Calle Caballeros.
Café del Negrito
A relaxed kind of bar that attracts many intellectuals, culture-hounds and fashionistas. Excellent place for people watching. Address: 1 Plaza del Negrito.
