Eating & drinkingEating & drinking

Thanks to its role as one of the major international crossroads, Dubai offers dishes from around the world. You’ll find French, Italian, Spanish, Greek and Scandinavian restaurants, as well as culinary treasures from India, China and other Asian countries. Naturally, Arab dishes are also to be found, primarily Moroccan, Lebanese, Jordanian and other specialities. The following are a few of the many Arab delicacies:
  • hareis (succulent slow-cooked lamb with wheat)
  • matchous (highly spiced lamb served over rice)
  • fattayyer (bite-sized pastries stuffed with cream cheese and spinach)
  • mehalabiya (mouth-watering pudding topped with pistachios and rose petals)
  • esh asaraya (cream-topped variation on cheese cake)
