transavia.com confident after first year in Denmark
25 November 2009
Satisfied passengers and still better key figures. That is the result after one year in the Danish market for low fare airline transavia.com. Manning up its Danish office while expanding the number of routes to 28, transavia.com is growing steadily – and Danes’ are increasingly aware of transavia.com.
transavia.com is doing well in Denmark as well as internationally. Despite the crisis initial corporate figures from transavia.com’s first and second fiscal quarters 2009/10 are even better than last year, where the company presented a profit for the 31st time in a row. And one year after entering the Danish market, the airline also looks to the future in Denmark with great confidence.
- It is no secret that the Danish market is very tough these days, so we are incredibly happy to see improving results in Denmark. Our strategy for the first year was to establish a trustworthy low cost carrier with transparent price structure in Denmark in both consumer and trade markets. Danes have taken our product to heart, and we experience ever-increasing interest from the travel trade industry. Accordingly, we expect to significantly increase our market share in the tour operator and travel retail segment in the future, says transavia.com’s Norbert Zoet, Vice President International Sales.
More than 400.000 passengers have travelled with transavia.com in Denmark since the first flight took off last year. And in a transavia.com survey, 85 percent of the passengers are satisfied or very satisfied, while two thirds of passengers declare they would recommend transavia.com to friends.
The happy customers are a boost for transavia.com in Denmark – the Danish passengers are even more satisfied than customers from transavia.com’s home country, Holland.
- We are totally dependent on satisfied customers. In aviation you always have to do your utmost to keep the customers happy, and in a competitive market as the Danish it is even more important. In that regard the great customer satisfaction are an encouragement, and we look forward to offering even more Danes low fare flights to both the sunniest vacation spots and best winter sports destinations in Europe, says transavia.com’s Norbert Zoet, Vice President International Sales.
With a total of now 28 routes from Denmark, transavia.com obtained a Danish AOC in August 2009, making it possible to open routes to destinations outside the EU. transavia.com has based an extra aircraft in CPH to prepare for new sales opportunities.
Over the last year, 92 percent of transavia.com bookings were made online, and an impressive 87 percent of transavia.com’s flights left on time.
Transavia.com is 100% owned by Air France-KLM
