transavia.com wants all passengers to be able to take their hand luggage with them into the cabin. This is why we will be checking it against the following guidelines at both the check-in counter and at the gate:

  Each passenger is permitted 1 piece of hand luggage:
  • measuring up to 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm (L x W x H)
  • weighing no more than 10 kg

One thing you will definitely want to avoid at the airport is having to open your suitcase up to stuff your handbag into it because you forgot that it counts as another piece of hand luggage in addition to the one you have to take with you. Or, worse still, that your handbag won’t fit in your suitcase so you will have to pay for it as hold luggage. Prevent luggage-related stress by following these tips to get you prepared before you arrive at the airport:

check Measure and weigh your hand luggage at home before you go to the airport.
check Always put valuable items such as passports or medications in your
 hand luggage.
check If you have more than 1 piece of hand luggage (handbag, backpack, laptop)
 put the smaller one(s) into the largest one before they are checked
 against the guidelines so that you will be travelling with 1 piece of hand luggage.
check Make sure that your hand luggage complies with EU safety regulations.

TIP! Sometimes, on heavily booked flights, not all of the hand luggage can fit into the overhead bins. If you make sure that your hand luggage can also fit beneath your seat (maximum: 40 x 30 x 20 cm) you know you can take it on board.

Important: If it turns out at the airport that your hand luggage does not meet the size and weight requirements, it will be checked in and transported as hold luggage and you will be charged a fee of € 50 per bag. Once at the gate, you can only pay with a bank or credit card. Leaving luggage behind is always done at your own risk. transavia.com will not put any goods in storage.
