The old centre of Montpellier is virtually car-free. Only four trams that bring you to other parts of the city run through it. Transport to/from the airport

Montpellier Airport is located about 11 km from the city centre. You can travel to/from the airport by taxi or bus.
  • Taxi

    There are taxis at the taxi ranks outside the airport. A taxi drive costs approximately €25.
  • Bus

    The Airport Shuttle (Navette) will take you to the Place de l’Europe, east of the city centre, in 15 minutes. From there, you can either walk or take the metro to the Place de la Comédie — the centre of the city.

Travel anywhere within Montpellier: 
  • Bus

    Montpellier has an extensive bus network. You can use your bus ticket in the tram too. 
  • Tram

    Travelling by tram is very easy in Montpellier, since there are only two tram lines. Line T1 is the blue tram, which runs from the north-west to the east of the city. Line T2 is the flower tram, which runs from the south-west to the north-east of the city.
  • Taxi

    Do you expect to be travelling a lot by taxi? The most convenient way of finding a taxi is by going to the Place de la Comédie or the railway station. You can also hail a taxi on the street.
