The small island of Skiathos is located in the northern part of the Aegean Sea. The literal translation of Skiathos is ‘in the shadow of Athos’, a mountain on the mainland. The nature on Skiathos is predominantly green, with olive trees, sycamores and beautiful bays. Its magnificent beaches are the most beautiful in the Aegean. Koukounaries beach is one of them.     The taxis are located outside the arrival hall. They are available 24 hours a day. It takes less than 10 minutes to get to Skiathos city.

Transport in the city/region

Travel anywhere on Skiathos: 
  • Bus

    Planning on going to a different beach every day? In summer, there is a bus that stops at various sandy beaches. It departs every 20 minutes. Of course, you can also get out in one of the lovely villages. Tickets cost between €1.20 and €1.50.
  • Taxi

    You can hail a taxi anywhere on the island. There is a taxi rank opposite the ferry harbour.
