When are you flying to Tenerife?

Tenerife is the perfect holiday destination any time of year! During the winter, temperatures reach around 20 degrees, while average summer temperatures are a pleasant 25 degrees. It doesn’t really matter who you take with you, since the island has beaches, amusement parks, beautiful nature, secluded bays, lively beaches, and a capital with plenty of shopping options. Transport to/from the airport

Reina Sofia Airport on Tenerife is about 60 km from the capital city Santa Cruz and a 25 minute drive to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. You can travel to/from the airport by taxi or bus. 
  • Taxi

    The taxi ranks are outside, in front of the arrival hall. The taxi fare to Playa de Las Américas is €20 and is €60 to Santa Cruz.
  • Bus

    TITSA buses operate the bus service to and from the airport. The buses are located outside the arrivals hall. Number 11 goes to Santa Cruz, Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje. The bus fare to Santa Cruz costs about €6.

Transport in the city/region

Travel anywhere within Tenerife: 
  • Bus

    The bus is the cheapest form of transport on the island. You can recognise them by their green and white colour. They run in the capital city and in the towns outside. 
  • Tram

    Are you staying in the capital Santa Cruz? There is a tram to La Laguna, the second most important city on the island. 
  • Taxi

    If you are travelling distances within one place, then the best options are to walk or take a taxi. Most taxis use meters, but a fixed fare is used in some places.  The taxi fares are higher after 9 pm and in the weekend.

Duration of flight

The flight to Tenerife takes about 4 hours and 45 minutes. The outbound and inbound flights may be shorter if the wind direction is favourable.
