Missing luggage

Is your bag not on the baggage carousel on arriving at the airport? Or did you forget luggage on board the plane? Naturally, this is an unpleasant experience. We will make every effort to reunite you with your luggage.

Forgotten or lost luggage

If you lose your luggage or forget something on board, naturally we will do everything we can to reunite you with your luggage. Please do keep in mind that Transavia is not responsible for luggage forgotten on board.

  1. If you are still at the airport

    Go to the Lost & Found department. Found items are brought to this department at every airport.

  2. If you are no longer at the airport

    Are you no longer at the airport when you discover that you forgot something on board? Contact the relevant airport. If you discover that something was stolen from your luggage, report the theft to the police. We can only provide compensation, if applicable, if you have reported the theft.

  1. Go to one of the service desks immediately on arrival at the airport.

  2. The service desk will give you a form to fill out with all the details. The service desk assistant will then enter a lost report into the system. You will also be given a copy of the report. There is a case number on the report. You use this number to track the status of your delayed luggage.

What happens next:

The first 5 days are spent looking for your luggage at the airport. If your luggage is not found within 5 days, you can complete and submit the following form.

Fill out the form

From day 5 to day 21, Transavia will continue looking for your luggage. If your luggage is not found within 21 days, you can request compensation.

Your luggage has been found

Once your luggage is found, we will bring it to you at your holiday or home address as quickly as possible. In some countries, however, it is not possible to deliver your luggage to your holiday or home address due to safety regulations. In this case, you will have to pick up the luggage at the airport.

Compensation for replacement items

If you have indicated that your luggage is missing and you are not in your country of residence, you can request compensation for replacement items. This compensation covers the costs of replacement items like toiletries. Once your luggage has been returned to you, you can request this compensation within 21 days. Make sure to save all receipts for purchases of replacement items.

How to request compensation

If you have travel insurance, it is advisable to request compensation from your insurance company. This is because we have only limited liability for damaged luggage. If you don’t have travel insurance, you can request compensation from us. You do this using our online form or by writing to the following address.
