Go to the Lost & Found department at the airport. Found items are brought to this department at every airport.
If you lose luggage en route to or at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, you can call the Schiphol Customer Contact Centre or use the info pillar at the airport.
You can also fill out an online form on www.schiphol.nl on the Lost & Found page, providing details of your lost item.

Note: Important: Are you no longer at the airport when you discover that something has been stolen from your luggage? File a police report. We can only provide compensation, if applicable, if you have reported the theft to the police.
Go to one of the service desks immediately on arrival at the airport.
The service desk will give you a form to fill out with all the details. The service desk assistant will then enter a lost report into the system. You will also be given a copy of the report. There is a case number on the report. You use this number to track the status of your delayed luggage.
Track your delayed luggage
If you have travel insurance, it is advisable to request compensation from your insurance company. This is because we have only limited liability for damaged luggage. Do you not have travel insurance? You can request compensation from us. You do this using our online form or by writing to the following address.

It goes without saying that your luggage should be found within a day of your arrival. Naturally, we will continue to look for your bag. In this case, you can request compensation for all costs you incurred for replacement items, such as toiletries. Once your luggage has been returned to you, you can request compensation within 21 days.
Once your luggage is found, we will bring it to you at your holiday or home address as quickly as possible. In some countries, however, it is not possible to deliver your luggage to your holiday or home address due to safety regulations. In this case, you will have to pick up the luggage at the airport.
