The best sights in Ibiza

This Spanish island has everything you need for an unforgettable holiday. From its capital, Ibiza Town, you can easily explore the whole island. We have put together the best sights on Ibiza just for you.

1

Ibiza Town (Eivissa)

With these sights, strolling around in Ibiza Town is a real pleasure. From the 13th-century cathedral, the city wall and the stone city gate to the picturesque white houses: you will find it all in Ibiza Town. The town is set on hilly ground and has staircases and uneven paths. But anyone who is mobile and enjoys walking should not miss it.

Nightlife

Ibiza is sacred territory for clubbing animals. Do the names David Guetta, Richie Hawtin and Sven Väth ring a bell? Then plan your visit to Ibiza right now, because these DJs regularly perform on the island. The island is a wonderful place to dance all night and sleep all day on the beach. Most of the clubs such as the Pacha, Amnesia and DC10, are located in the south, near Ibiza Town. Also, keep your eyes and ears open for beach parties; these are mostly less expensive and more intimate than the clubs.

Es Vedrà

Es Vedrà is a small rocky island just off the south-west coast of Ibiza. It is one of the most amazing sights of Ibiza and the place of legends. Some say this is where the Sirenes of Homer’s Odyssey lived. Others say that it is part of the sunken city of Atlantis. If you drive to the bay of Cala d’Hort, you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the rock that rises from the blue water of the Mediterranean Sea.

The hippie market in Punta Arabí

Visit one of the many hippie markets on Ibiza and go back to the 1970s. You will find the largest and oldest one in Punta Arabí. Stroll along the 500 stalls selling clothing, shoes, jewellery, music and handmade goods. Pull up a chair at one of the outdoor cafés to enjoy the local specialities and watch the people passing by. The hippie market in Punta Arabí is open every Wednesday from 10 am to 6 pm from April to October.

Cala Vadella and Cala Xarraca

Ibiza has so many great beaches that it is difficult to choose. The bays in the south-west are all worth a visit. The ones that stand out here are Cala Valdella, which is long and wide, and Cala Xarraca, which is rocky and more intimate. You can also get there by boat as well. If you want to have some beach bars and shops nearby, Cala Xarraca is the beach for you.
