Am I always allowed to take my cabin bag in the cabin?

No, you can only take a cabin bag (55 x 35 x 25 cm*), for example a trolley or travel bag, if you booked it in advance. However, you are always allowed to take one piece of hand luggage (max 40 x 30 x 20 cm*) in the cabin, such as a small backpack or handbag. Always place this under the seat in front of you.

If you want to take a cabin bag in addition to your hand luggage, you can add a cabin bag to your booking for a fee. You can do this while making your booking or through My Transavia. If you select this, you will also receive Priority Boarding. Make sure you arrive at the gate on time, so you can board with the first group. Your hand luggage and cabin bag may weigh a max. of 10 kg. If you have chosen the Max fare, a cabin bag and Priority Boarding are already included in your package.

Gate Luggage Fee

Measure and weigh your luggage at home before departure to ensure it meets the above requirements. We will verify your luggage at the airport. Is your luggage too large or too heavy? Or do you have too many pieces of luggage? Then you will have pay the Gate Luggage Fee, starting at €65, and we will transport your luggage in the hold.

Important for safety on board: if we transport your cabin bag in the hold, make sure you put your electronic devices and batteries in your hand luggage (e.g. handbag or backpack). Electronic devices include a telephone, tablet, e-reader, laptop or e-cigarette. By ‘batteries’, we mean e.g. loose AA batteries or a power bank. Read more about this in ‘Allowed in your luggage’.

* The measurements include the wheels and handles.
