Am I always allowed to take my hand luggage in the cabin?
Your hand luggage (max. 40 x 30 x 20 cm*) can always be taken in the cabin, for example a small backpack or handbag. Always place it under the seat in front of you. Your hand luggage must not exceed 10 kg.
Do you want to take an extra luggage piece (55 x 35 x 25 cm*) with you in the cabin? For example a trolley or travelbag. For a fee you can add a cabin bag to your booking. You can do so while making your booking or through My Transavia. If you select this, you will also receive Priority Boarding. Make sure you arrive at the gate on time, so you can board with the first group. Place your cabin bag in the overhead compartments. We have space for max. 70 pieces in the cabin. Together, your handluggage and cabin bag may weigh max 10 kg.
Gate Luggage Fee
Measure and weigh your luggage at home before departure to ensure it meets the above requirements. We will verify your luggage at the airport. Is your luggage too large or too heavy? Or do you have too many pieces of luggage? Then you will have pay the Gate Luggage Fee, starting at €65, and we will transport your luggage in the hold.
Important for safety on board: if we transport your cabin bag in the hold, make sure that you put your electronic devices and batteries in your hand luggage (e.g. handbag or backpack). Electronic devices can be a telephone, tablet, e-reader, laptop or e-cigarette. By ‘batteries’, we mean e.g. loose AA batteries or a power bank. Read more about this in ‘Allowed in your luggage’.
* The measurements include wheels and handles.
