Am I allowed to bring my sporting weapon?

Yes, you can bring your sports weapon on your flight. However, there are a few important rules to keep in mind:

  • Pre-registration: register your sports weapon no later than 72 hours before departure. You can do this by calling our Service Center. Other weapons and ammunition found during the security check will not be allowed.
  • In the hold: sports weapons and ammunition must always be transported in the hold. For this, you have to book (extra) hold baggage. Our staff will check that the weapon is unloaded during check-in.
  • Documents: make sure you have the necessary documents. These may vary from country to country.
  • Ammunition: you may bring ammunition for your own use, as long as it is properly packed. Ammunition from different passengers may not be packed together in one package and must be packed separately from the weapon. You may bring a maximum of 5 kg of ammunition per person (Division 1.4S UN0012 or UN0014).
  • Safe packaging: firearms must be transported in a sturdy case to prevent damage.
