What does your new cabin bag policy mean for me?

Since 3 April 2024, our cabin luggage policy has changed. 1 of the most important changes is that from that date, you will have to pay extra to take your cabin bag on board. You can read what this means for you below.

What does the new cabin luggage policy mean?

As of April 3, 2024, you will pay a fee to board with a cabin bag (formerly known as hand luggage, 55 x 35 x 25cm max). If you’d like to take a cabin bag, you can select this during the booking process after you choose your flight, or book it afterwards in My Transavia. Read more about the fees for taking cabin baggage here. There is room for 70 pieces of cabin luggage in the cabin. So book early and make sure your cabin bag complies with the size restrictions to guarantee space on board. It also includes Priority Boarding, so you can board with the first group.

If you book the Max-fare, a cabin bag is included in the package. This will guarantee that you can board with your cabin bag. You will also enjoy Priority Boarding.

Always check the permitted luggage allowance before departure to avoid extra costs at the airport.

Gate Luggage Fee

Measure and weigh your luggage at home before departure to ensure it meets the above requirements. We will verify your luggage at the airport. Is your luggage too large or too heavy? Or do you have too many pieces of luggage? Then you will have pay the Gate Luggage Fee, starting at €65, and we will transport your luggage in the hold.

Zone boarding

We board our flights by zone. This is how we all contribute to a smooth and fast boarding process. There are three different zones. Your boarding pass shows your zone. You can stay seated until your zone is called. Keep an eye on the signs or staff instructions to know which zone is boarding. Please make sure you have your boarding pass and passport ready.
