Seville is Andalusia’s capital and is a bustling city full of wonderful sights - a great city trip destination! Take a stroll or cycle through the streets and you’ll spot the Moorish influences everywhere. The Seville cathedral, the Alcázar palace, and the Santa Cruz district are just a couple of the highlights waiting for you here.
Costa del Sol: de zonnekust
Sun, sea, beach? Check, check, check! The Andalusia region is known for its coastline, also known as the Costa del Sol. This coastline runs from Gibraltar to Almeria, and in between you’ll find gorgeous sandy beaches, spectacular rocks, picturesque fishing villages, and thousands of sun beds. The ultimate destination for a sun holiday! The best place to lay down your towels? Our favourites are the Playa de Maro (Nerja), Playa Malapesquera (Benalmádena), and La Malagueta (Malaga) beaches. Other well-known seaside resorts are Marbella and Torremolinos.
Discover versatile Malaga
Fly to Malaga and you’ll land in the heart of the Costa del Sol. This city offers a lot more than just kilometres of beaches. Stroll through the centre and you’ll discover a great mix of old and new. Art lover? Visit the Picasso museum! Malaga is the proud birthplace of the famous painter and sculptor. Prefer nature? Visit the national park El Torcal and stroll past outlandishly formed limestone rocks. Or take a day trip to Ronda, one of Spain’s oldest cities. The city is located on top of a rock and offers terrific views of the surrounding mountains. Whatever you’re looking for, Malaga has something for you!
Almeria: beaches and spectacle
The city of Almeria is located on the coast, just like Malaga, and is a great destination for a beach holiday. The city itself is also worth visiting. Go to the Arabic fort Alcazaba for an great view of the city. The remarkable cathedral is not to be missed either. Looking for nature? Walk through the spectacular Tabernas desert, which you might recognise from various western movies. Or feast your eyes on the nature reserve of Cabo de Gata-Níjar. Prepare for a panorama of sharp rocks, an azure blue sea and flamingos!
Surfparadijs Tarifa
Up for a sporty holiday? Head to Tarifa to catch some waves! Because this city is located in the Street of Gibraltar, there’s almost a strong breeze, which makes it the perfect hotspot for surfers. And if you look closely on a clear day, you can see Morocco on the opposite side of the strait. Other than that, Tarifa is a trendy but quiet fishing village with quaint white-chalked houses, narrow streets and old city walls. You’ll get into the holiday spirits in no time! Whether you’re up for surfing or not: Tarifa is a gorgeous place to wind down.
