On top of a mountain along the Moroccan coast you’ll find the Kasbah des Oudaias district, a little bit of paradise in Rabat and the walled, old part of the city with narrow streets and alleyways. The white and bright blue walls are covered in ivy and flowers. It is surprisingly peaceful and offers fabulous views of the sea. Kasbah des Oudaias is also home to the oldest mosque in Morocco. Need a break? Visit the nearby Andalusian gardens, with their fragrant orange trees and lovely fountains. Perfect for relaxing and escaping the hustle and bustle of Rabat for a little while!
Fly to lively Rabat
As in many other Moroccan cities, the Medina of Rabat is located in the heart of the city. The market is surprisingly peaceful and easy to navigate compared to that of, for example, Marrakech or Fez. Here you will find lots of great shops selling handmade goods, the perfect souvenirs for those back home. The Medina of Rabat is also known for its wonderful and affordable food, with a tremendous choice of dishes and flavours.
