Book your plane ticket to Béjaïa
Béjaïa
The largest country in Africa, Algeria offers a surprisingly large number of attractions. Here you will find many well-preserved Roman ruins as well as a rich culture and architecture. And there is also the beach, for example in Béjaïa.
Cap Carbon, a Mediterranean port city, lies nestled in the Gulf of Béjaïa. In addition to beautiful beaches, the city offers plenty of outdoor patios with views of the mountains, the port and the sea. A lovely destination to just relax. Another attraction in Cap Carbon is Pic de Singes, also known as ‘Barbary Macaque’, a peak that is home to several troops of baboons. So keep a close eye on your food when dining outside or you may find a cheeky baboon making off with your meal.
Sights in and around Béjaïa
A visit to Béjaïa isn't complete without an excursion to Gouraya National Park, on the Algerian coast. Thanks to the beautiful location and its many cliffs and beaches, locals flock here for a refreshing swim. The park is named after Mount Gouraya, which features a large diversity of flora and fauna. Be sure to keep an eye out for jackals. Tip: climb to the top of the mountain (660 metres) for an amazing view of the ocean. Ready to cool off? Head to the Cascades Kefrida – a nature area with spectacular waterfalls, perfect for a refreshing swim.
