Tlemcen
Most of Algeria consists of sand. But in addition to arid desert sand, you will also find plenty of beach sand along the Mediterranean Sea. Sights in TIemcen
TIemcen is home to one of Algeria's oldest mosques: the Great Mosque, built in 1136. Designed in a traditional Andalusian style, the mosque wouldn't look out of place in southern Spain. On the outskirts of the city you will find the Mansourah ruins. These are the remains of the walled city that once encompassed a 4000-metre long and 13-metre high wall. The 38-metre high iconic minaret has also stood the test of time.
