If you think of Egypt, you think Cairo. There is no better place to get to know the Arabic way of life than in the largest city in Africa and the Middle East. From foodies to culture lovers and sun worshippers, the bustling capital city of Egypt is a must see. Are your suitcases packed yet?

You can’t avoid the pyramids in Cairo. The Great Pyramid of Giza is located about 15 kilometres southwest of the city and is by far the most famous pyramid in the country. You must visit it if you are in the vicinity. In Giza, you can also see the statue of an enormous sphinx, with the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion. And let’s not forget the Egyptian Museum, where you can admire the mask of Pharaoh Tutankhamun.

Metropole on the Nile

Do you want to escape the lively, yet busy city? Hire a ‘felucca’, a flat Egyptian sailing boat. It’s a great way to sail on the Nile. The river runs straight through the city, so you can discover the fantastic city from the boat. If you would rather explore the city by foot, wander around the Khan El-Khalili market and admire all the exceptional stalls. After all that, you can relax and unwind amid the calming green of the Al-Azhar park. Discover all the wonderful beauty Cairo has to offer.
