Transport to/from the airport

Vienna’s airport is located about 20 km from the city centre. You can travel to/from the airport by taxi, bus, train or metro.
  • Taxi

    The taxis are waiting at the exit to bring you to your destination. The journey to the centre of Vienna costs about €30.
  • Bus

    The Airport Express bus will bring you from the airport to the centre of Vienna in 20 minutes. The bus runs every half hour up to midnight.
  • Train

    The City Airport Train runs every half hour from the airport up to midnight. The journey to the centre of Vienna takes about 15 minutes.
  • Metro

    The metro is one level below the arrival hall. The S-Bahn runs twice an hour to Vienna. You can buy tickets at the red ÖBB ticket vending machines on the platforms.

Travel anywhere within Vienna:
  • Metro

    If you want to travel quickly around Vienna, then take the metro. Explore the city on metro lines U1, U2, U3, U4 and U6 from the main railway station. 
  • Bus

    The buses are the perfect way of exploring the area outside Vienna. There are also night buses in the weekend. The night bus fares are more expensive than the buses that run during the day.
  • Tram

    As there are so many tram stops you will be at your destination in minutes. The trams in Vienna are very comfortable and spacious.
  • Taxi

    Pick up a taxi quickly from one of Vienna’s 100 taxi ranks. The taxis are easy to spot by their lit signs on their roofs.
