Fly to Bergerac. The town’s central location makes it the perfect gateway to Bordeaux and the Périgueux. Bergerac, also known as the 'Purple Périgord', is the second largest wine growing area of the Aquitaine region. Only Bordeaux is larger. So wine lovers are in the right place! The Dordogne, one of France’s longest rivers, runs right through the town. Take a walk along the river and explore the heart of the town with its winding streets, old alleys and medieval houses.
It takes about 15 minutes to get to the centre of Bergerac by taxi. The ride costs approximately €15. Taxis are parked outside, in front of the arrival hall.
