Bergerac, also known as the 'Purple Périgord', is the second largest wine growing area of the Aquitaine region. Only Bordeaux is larger. So wine lovers are in the right place! The Dordogne, one of France’s longest rivers, runs right through the town. Take a walk along the river and explore the heart of the town with its winding streets, old alleys and medieval houses.

Transport to/from the airport

Bergerac Airport is located about 6 km from the city centre. The airport does not have a train or bus connection. The only form of transport to/from the airport is by taxi.
  • Taxi

    It takes about 15 minutes to get to the centre of Bergerac by taxi. The ride costs approximately €15. Taxis are parked outside, in front of the arrival hall. 

  • Bus

    Bergerac is a compact city where everything is within walking distance. Prefer to take the bus? Bus company TUB (Transports Urbains de Bergerac) has good bus connections. Outside the Bergerac area, there are also shuttle buses. 

Transport in the city/region

Travel anywhere within Bergerac: 
  • Train

    The train is the perfect mode of transport if you want to see more than scenic Bergerac. It is easy, for example, to travel to the lovely Bordeaux by train. 
  • Taxi

    You can hail a taxi anywhere in Bergerac. There are taxi ranks at the railway station.
