Transport to/from the airport

The airport of Thessaloniki is located about 17 km from the city centre. You can travel to/from the airport by taxi or bus.
  • Taxi

    The taxi ranks are located outside, in front of the arrival hall. It takes about half an hour to get to the city centre by taxi and the drive costs €15 to €20. 
  • Bus

    Bus number 78 (78N at night) leaves for the centre of Thessaloniki every 45 minutes. A one-way bus ticket costs about €0.80.

Travel anywhere within Thessaloniki:
  • Bus

    The cheapest way to travel in Thessaloniki is by bus. The local buses run from 06:00 to 00:00. You can buy your tickets from the bus driver.
  • Taxi

    You can hail taxis anywhere on the street in Thessaloniki or simply hire one at the nearest taxi rank. Most taxis have a meter. If this is not the case, it is recommended to agree on a fixed price in advance in order to avoid paying too much.
