Transport to/from the airport

Bari airport is located about 8 km from the city centre. You can travel to/from the airport by taxi or bus.
  • Taxi

    You will find taxis outside, in front of the arrival hall. It is a 25-minute drive to the centre of Bari. The taxi fare is approximately €20.
  • Bus

    There are two bus connections to the airport. To travel to the city centre you can either take city bus 
    16 (Amtab bus) or the Tempesta shuttle bus. The shuttle bus is often more expensive, but it is faster.

Travel anywhere within Bari:
  • Bus

    There are various bus companies which operate journeys to Bari and beyond. If you want to travel within Bari, it is best to take the Amtab bus. You can buy your tickets from the bus driver.
  • Train

    Planning on visiting other Italian cities? Take the train! It is the most convenient way of travelling from Bari to other places, such as Rome.
  • Taxi

    The taxis in Bari are easy to recognise by their yellow or white colour and the 'taxi' sign on the roof. You can hail a taxi on the street or hire one at the nearest taxi rank. These are often located near busy tourist attractions or stations.
