Bologna, Italy

Eye-catching arcade arches, medieval palaces, red roofs, Pasta Bolognese and towers from the Renaissance period are what you can expect in Bologna.

Book a ticket to Northern Italy and discover the medieval city of Bologna. The beautiful city centre is a stunning gem surrounded by old city walls. Inside these walls, the city is bursting with towers and magnificent palaces. A unique architectural detail here are the arcade arches. The gallery of arches is nearly 40 km in length! From here you can take the train to the Sanctuary on top of the Colle delle Guardia, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city! Tip: Bologna is the birthplace of Pasta Bolognese, so make sure to try it!

Fly to ‘La Rossa’, the red city of Italy

Especially striking are the red roofs and red-coloured buildings. Not surprisingly, the city is also called ‘La Rossa’. The lovely Palazzo d'Accursio o Comunale is one of these red-coloured buildings, but even more beautiful are the leaning towers of Asinelli and Garisenda. If you dare, you can climb the Asinelli tower. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with fabulous views across the red rooftops of the city!
