Transport to/from the airport

Pisa’s airport is located about 1 km from the city centre. You can travel to/from the airport by taxi, bus or train.
  • Taxi

    There are taxi ranks outside the arrival hall at the airport. Use the CO.TA.PI shared taxis to get to the centre of town cheaply. Please note that the ‘regular’ taxis are a little more expensive. 
  • Bus

    There are buses outside the arrival hall which run to Pisa’s main station and the centre of town. The bus stop is easy to find - just look for a big blue sign saying: City Bus.

Travel anywhere within Pisa:
  • Bus

    Public transport in Pisa is mostly buses run by the Compagnia Pisana Trasporti bus company. You can buy tickets in the bus, at kiosks or at newsagents.
  • Train

    Do you also want to explore cities other than Pisa? Pisa’s main railway station is about 1 kilometre from the airport.
  • Taxi

    A good way to travel within Pisa is by taxi. You can hail taxis anywhere in the city centre. There are taxi ranks at the airport, main railway station and at Piazza Duomo (the Leaning Tower of Pisa).
