Transport to/from the airport

The airport of Faro is located about 6 km from the city centre. You can travel to/from the airport by taxi or bus.
  • Taxi

    The taxi ranks are located outside, in front of the airport. The taxi journey to the centre of Faro costs about €10.
  • Bus

    Buses 14 and 16 go from the airport to the centre of Faro. The buses run every 15 minutes. It takes 20 minutes to get to the central bus station in Faro. The bus station is walking distance from the city centre.

Travel anywhere within Faro:
  • Bus

    Faro has a good bus network. You can reach all the sights of Faro easily by bus.
  • Train

    Do you want to see more than Faro? The train is the perfect form of transport. Travel comfortably to other places such as Lisbon from the railway station in Faro.
  • Taxi

    You can hail a taxi anywhere in Faro. Note: you can negotiate the price if you make a long journey. Taxi drivers are entitled to a supplement for long journeys. This is because they are permitted to drive back without passengers.
