Transport to/from the airport

Bodrum’s airport is located about 36 km from the city centre. You can travel to/from the airport by taxi or shuttle bus.
  • Taxi

    Taxis are a popular form of transport in Bodrum. You can easily take a taxi from the airport to the centre of Bodrum. The fares are posted at the airport.
  • Bus

    Buses go from the airport to various destinations and the journey ends in the centre of Bodrum. The taxi fare is approximately €4.

Transport in the city/region

Travel anywhere within Bodrum:
  • Bus

    If you want to travel cheaply, then take the dolmus in Bodrum. These are mini-buses that you can stop anywhere on the street. The dolmus runs along a set route from one of the bus stations. But of course you can also explore Bodrum using the 'regular' buses. These are very useful for exploring the surroundings of Bodrum.
  • Taxi

    You cannot miss the taxis in Bodrum - they are yellow and have a sign with 'taxi' on the roof. You can hail them anywhere on the street. Note: The fares are often 50% higher between midnight and 6 am.

Passport and visa

You need a passport or identity card that is still at least valid for at least 6 months when you arrive. Apart from a passport or identity card, you also need a visa. 

Since 10 April 2014 you are required to obtain a visa before you travel. You cannot get a visa at airports in Turkey any more. You can only pay for your visa with a credit card. To make sure that your payment is made on time, we recommend arranging your visa at least 24 hours in advance. Please note! Do you have a French passport? Then you do not need to apply for a visa.
