Check-in information

Taking a flight soon? Then it’s time to check in! Check in online quickly and easily for numerous routes using My Transavia. If preferred, you can also check in at the airport at one of the check-in desks.

How do I check in online?

It is fast, easy and free to check in online at Transavia. Our online check-in service is open 30 hours before departure to 4 hours before the departure of your flight. If you’re checking in on your smartphone, download and save your mobile boarding pass on your phone and show it at the gate. You cannot print out your mobile boarding pass or show it on a tablet. It is not possible to check in for both the outbound and return flight at the same time.

Online check-in is available for all Transavia flights. Please note: For flights with an extra stop, you can check in online but you cannot choose a seat – you are assigned one.

If you are not sure whether your luggage is too heavy, you can always book (extra) hold luggage when checking in online. Keep in mind that the fee for hold luggage is more expensive at the airport.

If you are unable to check in online, there may be a number of reasons for this:
  • There is a fault in the system. Please try again later or check in at the airport.
  • You are trying to check in for a flight to Dubai.
  • You are too early. You can check in online from 30 hours to 4 hours before departure.
  • You have booked via the group desk or you want to check in a group of more than 25 persons.
  • You are a child who is travelling alone and have requested assistance.

Airport check-in

Of course, you can also check in at one of the check-in desks at no additional cost. If you choose to do so, please remember to bring your booking confirmation and your passport or national identity card. Make sure you have checked in and handed in any luggage before the check-in desks close.

Advance Passenger Information (API)

For a number of routes, Transavia is required to provide information from your travel document to the authorities in your destination and/or departure country. The information we require from you is called API (Advance Passenger Information). You will be notified during check-in if we need this information. The reason this information is passed on is to reduce illegal immigration through better border control.

We require the following information from you:

  • Your full name
  • Your gender
  • Your date of birth
  • The type of travel document (passport or identity card)
  • The number of your travel document
  • The country where your travel document was issued
  • The expiry date of your travel document
  • Your nationality

Where do I drop off my luggage?

If you are departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for a Schengen country*, you can proceed directly to the gate through security screening in Departure Hall 1.
Do you have hold luggage and have already checked in? Go to the baggage drop-off counter in Departure Hall 1.
*The Schengen countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (including the Canary Islands), Sweden and Switzerland.
