What conditions must my wheelchair or mobility scooter meet to be allowed on a Transavia flight?
We can transport your wheelchair or mobility scooter to your destination if it is within the dimensions of 121 cm (width) x 113 cm (length) x 85 cm (height).
We can only transport your wheelchair or mobility scooter upright in the hold. To do so, your wheelchair or mobility scooter may not be higher than 85 cm. Does your wheelchair or mobility scooter exceed 85cm in height? Then we unfortunately cannot take it.
Important: register your wheelchair or mobility scooter with us
You can notify us of your (electric) wheelchair or mobility scooter when booking your flight via My Transavia or via our Service Centre.
Also, it is important to notify us of the measurements, weight and the type of battery of your (electric) wheelchair or mobility scooter. Please also provide the Wh value (Watt-hour value), Voltage (V) and Amp-hour (Ah) of the battery. You can do this by calling the Service Centre directly following your booking – please do so no less than 48 hours before departure. We need that time to assess your request. Is everything OK? Then you will receive a confirmation from us, which you will need in order to be able to travel.
Even if you have an IATA certificate, you must still notify us of your wheelchair or mobility scooter and provide us with the specifications. This allows us to assess whether your wheelchair or mobility scooter will fit in the hold. Just having a certificate is not enough to bring your wheelchair and/or mobility scooter onto the aircraft.
Preparing your wheelchair or mobility scooter for travel
Before we can load your wheelchair or mobility scooter, you must prepare it for travel. This means disconnecting the battery and packing it correctly. You can read how to do so in our FAQ about wheelchair and mobility scooter batteries. You must also disconnect all loose parts (such as the headrest) from your wheelchair or mobility scooter. You should take these loose parts on board with you. We will include these items in your extra luggage allowance.
