How to recognise phishing?

Scammers occasionally impersonate airlines, including Transavia. They send fraudulent emails or messages through social media, requesting your personal details, or banking information. This type of scam is known as phishing.

We'd like to help you recognise and avoid these deceptive messages.

How to recognise phishing?

Be particularly cautious if a message:

  • Promises prizes or free gifts, such as 'Free airline tickets' or 'Your voucher is about to expire'.
  • Creates urgency, asking you to act quickly to transfer money or complete a form.
  • Contains poor grammar or spelling errors.
  • Comes from a free email service such as Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail.

You may also encounter fake websites on social media offering seemingly attractive deals. Do not click on these.

If you don't recognise the sender, avoid clicking on any links, or opening attachments.

How to verify authentic Transavia messages?

We only send messages through our own channels, and in two specific situations:

1. Travel information
When you've booked a flight, we send you practical information about your journey. This includes booking confirmations, check-in emails, and other correspondence with essential details about your flight. These messages always contain identifiable information, such as your booking reference.

2. Offers or news
We keep you informed about special offers and new routes. We never request personal information in these communications.
