What kind of assistance can Transavia offer my child when travelling alone?

Transavia offers assistance to ensure that your child travelling alone safely reaches their destination. Our ground and cabin crew will accompany your child from the departure airport up to the person meeting your child in the arrival hall at the destination. Your child’s journey will start at the airport and proceed as follows:

  • You take your child to the check-in desk 2 hours before departure and sign a transfer document. You can then walk with your child as far as customs. After customs, our ground crew will accompany your child to the aircraft. It is important that you stay at the airport until the plane has departed. Should the flight be cancelled unexpectedly, then you are still in the vicinity to collect your child.
  • Your child will receive a voucher to chose something from the menu during the flight. The value of the voucher is €6 on flights with an HV number and €8.50 on flights with a TO number.
  • After arriving at the destination, the crew will hand your child over to our colleagues at the airport,
  • Where your child must be met by someone aged 16 or older. Make sure you have arranged everything beforehand, otherwise your child will have to fly back on the first return flight for safety reasons.
  • The person meeting your child will be waiting at the airport when the aircraft lands and will go to the correct arrival hall. Our colleagues at the airport will check this person’s passport or national identity card before handing over your child. They must also sign a form for picking up your child.

Please note: If your child (under 18 years) is travelling alone, a parental consent form is often needed for passing through border control. Make sure that you have this, otherwise your child will not be able to board the flight. We recommend that you check the government website for the precise documents your child needs.
