The best time to visit Lanzarote

It’s always spring in Lanzarote. Even in winter, temperatures remain around 20°C. August is the month with the highest temperatures and the most tourists. It’s also the festival month in the capital, Arrecife. During this time, Fiesta de San Ginés takes place, and the city celebrates for 10 days. Expect street parties, sports events on the beach and special bike rides. There are mountain bike races through the volcanic landscape and family-friendly cycling tours that allow you to explore the beautiful island.

• Yaiza: this picturesque town in the south of Lanzarote is known for its traditional whitewashed houses and charming squares. It’s no wonder that Yaiza has been named the most beautiful place in Spain several times.
• Teguise: this is the former capital of Lanzarote. Every Sunday, a large market is held here where you can buy local products and taste traditional dishes. Try queso de cabra (goat cheese), chorizo de teror (a spicy, spreadable Canarian chorizo) and, of course, fresh fish. This is what a Sunday should be like!
