Flying with one or more children

Are you traveling with children? You are probably looking forward to this. But it can also be quite a challenge. To help you prepare for your flight, we have put together some useful information and tips for you. How much luggage can you bring? Can I bring my own food and drinks on board? And how do I make the flight more comfortable for my child? You will find the answers to these questions and more below.

Parents or guardians can sometimes be a bit nervous when flying with children. This is why we will help you make the flight as comfortable as possible, both for your children and for yourself. We often get questions when parents or guardians are flying with children: can you bring a buggy with Transavia? From what age is a seat on the plane compulsory? And can children fly for free? At Transavia, a folding buggy weighing a maximum of 7 kilos can be taken to the gate, because the distance to the gate for children is sometimes far. You must check in a pram at the desk. A child of up to 2 years old can travel on your lap for € 30 per one-way flight. If your child is 2 years or older on the date of the flight, it is mandatory for your child to have their own seat. You will pay the regular ticket price for this. That means that flying with children is not free. It is also possible for a child to travel without their parents or guardians. At Transavia, we believe that it is important to ensure that unaccompanied children arrive safely at their destination. This is why supervision is mandatory for children between 5 and 12 years of age. At Transavia, a child is allowed to fly alone from the age of 12, but supervision is still available if desired (for children between 12 and 17 years old). Our ground and cabin staff will accompany your child from the departure at the airport to the final destination. There we will hand him or her over to the person who will pick up your child in the arrivals hall.
